At Mortgage Planning Centre we offer seminars on several different mortgage financing topics.  These seminars can be in a small or large group setting.  Often we include other industry specialists such as Realtors, Lawyers, Home Inspectors, Accountants  and Financial Planners.  Please contact us for upcoming seminars on the following topics or if there is a topic you would like to suggest.

All seminars will be held in our offices at 1301 - 10th Avenue SW. There is plenty of parking available.

NEW REALTOR SEMINARS - Wednesday, March 17th at 12 noon Downtown

CMHC Lunch & Learn - For new and experienced realtors - FULL

CMHC will be present for this powerhour session.  They will discuss the new mortgage rules and how this can affect your clients.  This seminar is designed for the new realtor or for experience realtors who need a refresher  course on mortgages.  We review lender and insurer requirements.  Why condition of finance clauses are so important and paperwork required by the lenders. It provides you enough information to put to a solid offer together for your client giving them a very streamlined process from the realtor, to the broker to the lawyer.  1 HOUR - light lunch served

FIRST TIME HOME BUYER - Wednesday, March 24th at 6pm

Do you have plans to buy your first home this spring?

This seminar is designed to teach First Time Home Buyers everything they will need to know to purchase their first home. It goes through the process, the documentation required, the people involved, as well as mortgage terminology, mortgage types and the different options available.  1 HOUR

MORTGAGES FOR THE SELF EMPLOYED - Wednesday, April 21st

In today's employment market many salaried positions have been transitioned to contract roles.  As well, many people are deciding to go out on their own and open small businesses.   Mortgages for the self employed are arranged in a slightly different manner than for salaried employees.  This seminar will teach you what you need to know to approve for a mortgage as a self employed person.  Topics will include what you need to know to qualify for a self employed mortgage, required documentation, the importance of credit scores and the various mortgage products available today. 1 HOUR

MORTGAGES FOR THE INVESTOR - Wednesday, April 28th

Many home owners are looking to expand their real estate portfolio.  This seminar will cover the different mortgage products that are available to purchase investment properties.  Topics will include required down payments, minimum credit scores, how to use the equity from your principle residence to purchase a rental property as well as lender and insurer guidelines. Also, an update on the new rules for purchasing investment properties.  1 HOUR

HOW TO USE THE EQUITY IN YOUR HOUSE TO BUILD YOUR NETWORTH - Wednesday, May 5th

This seminar is designed for home owners who have accumulated equity in their home and are looking to use it to build their networth.  Topics include how to pay down high interest credit cards or loans and invest the savings as well as using the equity in your home to further your financial position. 1 HOUR
